About Kouderc Studio

Raised in the central French region of Auvergne, Olivier graduated in 1995 from INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) in Lyon. After obtaining his degree, he taught mechanical engineering in Paris.

In 2008, he had the opportunity to move to Texas with his family. He started as a real estate investor, and then began remodeling Windsor Park homes in Austin. See his work here. During a renovation, Olivier was Involved from start to finish: from hammering the first nail to managing the entire project. His success has been in the details, envisioning not only the overall style of the finished home, but also choosing the type of materials and weaving in elements of the original structure. His creative eye allowed him to take less-than-desirable properties and transform them into outstanding dream homes. As a hobby, he also began designing one-of-a-kind furniture pieces for these homes using a variety of materials, including metal and concrete.

This hobby became a passion for building custom-made furniture, and he founded Kouderc Studio in early 2015. The business is named for his great uncle, Louis Couderc, who carried out his life’s work in a tiny artisanal workshop in Auvergne where Olivier and his cousins spent much of their youth creating things. This experience as a young boy inspired Olivier to follow his passion for design.

Some pieces of his work can be seen at Aviary Decor&Lounge – 2110 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704 – map
